A 2016 BMW 330e developed a fault related to its adaptive cruise control (ACC). Careful, systematic diagnostics located a specific fault without unnecessary part replacements. The case is anonymised and the image is illustrative.
Systematic diagnosis before the repair decision
ACC and radar system faults can have several causes. In this case, the system was investigated step by step and the actual fault was isolated before deciding on the repair. Working parts did not need to be changed as a precaution.
Repair limited to the damaged part
Once the fault had been located, only the damaged part was repaired. The connection was restored in line with the original design, without unnecessary replacement of functioning assemblies.
Original calibration and protection preserved
The work was carried out so that the system’s original calibration remained unchanged. The unit’s structure and protection against moisture were also properly maintained.
Operation verified after the repair
After the repair, the connection and normal system operation were restored. The result was checked before the vehicle was returned.
